My name is Mark. Born in Alkmaar, I moved to Amsterdam in 2014. When the COVID lockdown happened, I decided to focus on opportunities rather than dwelling on restrictions. This led me to purchase my first sideboard online from Vintage.nl—a beautiful Scandinavian piece that needed some TLC. Though I had no experience with refurbishing or restoring furniture, I decided to give it a try, and it turned out pretty well. After selling it, I was inspired to work on more pieces. I discovered it was a wonderful way to learn new skills and meet new people.

From that point on, I remained open to all opportunities. Working from my balcony in Amsterdam Oost (hence the name EAUST, with some French influence for the pronunciation 😉), I met Meijken and began helping her with pickups and deliveries. We opened our workspace in Zuidoost together, where Luca from De Opwaardeerkamer later joined us. At the beginning of 2024, Meijken found a new space for her shop and invited me to join. In March 2024, we opened our showroom in Amsterdam Noord, followed by our new workspace next door last December, where Luca rejoined us.

My focus in vintage furniture and design centers on Dutch mid-century items designed for Pastoe and Artifort. I love the simplicity and functionality of Scandinavian design, timeless designers like Eames and Le Corbusier, and Italian brands like Cassina. I'm also drawn to designers like Dieter Rams and space age items. So you can probably imagine what my house looks like 😉
